  • ARE SKIN BOOSTERS SAFE?
Our Skin Boosters are from FDA approved companies, meaning that they have undergone the most rigorous safety checks. The contain ingredients which have been heavily researched and are proven to be both highly effective and safe.
  • HOW LONG DO SKIN BOOSTERS LAST?
Skin Boosters provide hydration deep into the skin. For your first treatment, 2-3 sessions approximately 2-3 weeks apart and needed. After this, you will need a top-up of one session approximately every 6 months. Skin-boosters also provide anti-oxidants and vitamins, which help to neutralise free-radicals and prevent skin aging – these effects are lifelong!
  • WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PROFHILO AND SKIN BOOSTER?
Profhilo contains different types of hyaluronic acid to provide hydration and plump out the skin. Skin Boosters provide hyaluronic acid too, which also plumps out the skin. These hydrating effects, from both Profhilo and Skin Boosters last up to 6 months. However, Skin Boosters also contain added natural components (antioxidants, minerals, amino acids and vitamins) which stimulates the skin’s own production of elastin and collagen, and neutralise free radicals, helping to prevent skin aging. These effects are lifelong. Profhilo tends to provide more deep hydration a more plumping effect, whilst skin boosters provide more glow. Following consultation, Dr Naz will be able to determine which is best for you
  • DO SKIN BOOSTERS WORK?
Yes! They are favourite of many of our clients! Skin Boosters work by providing the skin with hydrating ingredients such a hyaluronic acid, combined with natural ingredients (antioxidants, minerals, amino acids and vitamins). This combination stimulates collagen and elastin production, resulting in a thicker and more elastic dermal layer. The result is dewier, firmer and more luminous skin. These ingredients also neutralise free-radicals and help to prevent further skin-aging. The results are cumulative, and it is usually advised to get 2-3 session for your first treatment to get the best results. After this, you will need top-ups of only 1 session approximately every 6 months.
  • HOW FAST DO SKIN BOOSTERS WORK?
Results are seen approximately 2-3 weeks after the first session, by which point the hydrating agents (hyaluronic acid) have plumped the skin. Other components of the skin boosters (antioxidants, minerals, amino acids and vitamins) gradually stimulate elastin and collagen in the skin, which is usually seen 2-3 months later.
  • WHAT ARE SKIN BOOSTERS?
Skin Boosters are tiny, superficial (very shallow) injections designed to deliver hydration and radiance to the skin. They are injected into areas of concern, including the face, neck and back of hands. They contain hyaluronic acid to hydrate the skin, and a cocktail of effective natural ingredients (antioxidants, minerals, amino acids and vitamins) which help to stimulate collagen and elastin, neutralise free radicals and protect the skin from aging.
  • WHAT SHOULD I AVOID AFTER ANTI WRINKLE INJECTIONS?
You can resume most of your usual activities after your treatment. However, we recommend the following: For 4 hours after treatment: No rubbing or massaging of the injected area for 4 hours after treatment. This includes facials. Try to keep upright and avoid lying on your front For 24 hours after treatment: No strenuous exercise for 24 hours after treatment. Avoid excessive alcohol or medications that increase bruising, such as ibuprofen and aspirin (unless needed)
  • IS 50 TOO LATE FOR BOTOX?
Absolutely not! Anti-wrinkle injections are suitable for most adults - any age group can potentially benefit from them. We have 2 types of wrinkles: Dynamic wrinkles – those that are only present upon making certain expressions (e.g. frown lines that only appear when you frown) Static wrinkles – those that are present all the time, even when at a resting expression (e.g. frown lines that are present even when you are not frowning) Anti-wrinkle Injections can help both these wrinkle types. After treatment, as the treated muscle(s) is relaxed, dynamic lines will disappear. Over time, as you use the treated muscle(s) less, static wrinkles will also soften. Therefore, even if you have many static lines (which we tend to as we age), with time and with repeated treatments, these can significantly reduce.
  • WHAT DOES 3 AREAS ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS MEAN?
This term refers to anti-wrinkle / botox injections in the: Crow’s feet Forehead lines Frown lines (glabellar lines or elevenses)
  • HOW LONG DO ANTI WRINKLE INJECTIONS TAKE TO WORK?
Typically results will start to be seen after a few days. However, it normally takes about 2 weeks before full muscle relaxation is achieved and full results are seen.
  • WHERE CAN YOU USE ANTI WRINKLE INJECTIONS
They can be used in a variety of locations over the face. They can be injected into the muscles that cause the following wrinkles: Crow’s feet Forehead lines Frown lines (glabellar lines or elevenses) Bunny lines . Their use is not limited to anti-wrinkle treatments. They can also be used to: Relax muscles under the eyebrow or in the centre of the forehead to create a brow lift Relax the muscles that cause TMJ (teeth-grinding) Relax the masseter muscles – jaw line slimming Relax the muscles that cause a gummy smile
  • DO WRINKLES COME BACK WORSE AFTER ANTI WRINKLE INJECTIONS?
Absolutely not – it’s can be quite the opposite! Once wrinkles form again after the treatment has worn off, many assume that the treatment worsened their wrinkles. This isn't true at all. In fact, repeated anti-wrinkle injections long-term can retrain certain muscles to move less, leading to smoother skin and less need for injections over time.
  • WHAT ARE ANTI WRINKLE INJECTIONS
Anti-wrinkle injections are non-invasive injections of a substance called botulinum toxin type A. There are many different brands of botulinum toxin type A. The first readily available brand of botulinum toxin was Botox (registered trademark). For a while this was the only brand available. The name stuck - when people refer to anti-wrinkle injections or botulinum toxin in general, they often use the term Botox.
  • WHAT IS THE BEST AGE TO START ANTI WRINKLE INJECTIONS? WHAT ARE PREVENTATIVE ANTI WRINKLE INJECTIONS?
As previously mentioned, all ages can potentially benefit from these injections. However, ‘baby-botox’ is becoming increasingly popular. This is where smaller doses of botulinum toxin are used at a younger age (20s upwards) to help prevent wrinkles from appearing. How does this work? Repeated facial expression leads to wrinkles. Dynamic wrinkles lead to static wrinkles. Static wrinkles – those that are present all the time, even when at a resting expression (e.g. frown lines that are present even when you are not frowning) Dynamic wrinkles – those that are only present upon making certain expressions (e.g. frown lines that only appear when you frown) For example, repeatedly frowning leads to the formation of frown lines that remain even when in a neutral expression (i.e. not frowning). By relaxing certain muscles in your face - e.g. frown muscles - the ability to frown is decreased and therefore dynamic wrinkles are decreased. As you are not crinkling the skin as much and forming wrinkles, static lines are prevented from forming. In this way, anti-wrinkle / botox injections, if used at appropriate doses and frequencies, can be used to maintain youthful skin.
  • HOW LONG DO ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS LAST?
Typically, results last between 3-6 months. This varies from person to person, and depends on a variety of factors, including metabolism, which muscles were injected, which brand of botulinum toxin was used and at what dose.
  • HOW DO THEY WORK?
They work by relaxing the muscles that they are injected into. They help to soften wrinkles by relaxing the muscles that cause these wrinkles. By relaxing other muscles, they can help with a variety of other aesthetic concerns (more below)
  • WHAT ARE THE RISKS OF DERMAL FILLERS?
Like any medical procedure, fillers do have some potential side effects which patients should be made aware of. Most commonly you may see bruising and swelling but this should subside in a few days. There is also a rare possibility of allergic reaction or vessel occlusion (when filler is injected into the vessel blocking the blood supply to the area). As Dr Naz is a GMC registered doctor, she has all emergency medicines to hand during her clinics. She also has the all relevant training and experience to correctly diagnose and resolve any complications. The fillers used in our clinic have a very good safety record and we have seen no serious side effects up to date.
  • WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I GET DERMAL FILLERS?
We start with a detailed consultation to formulate a personalised treatment plan. Once we have agreed on the area of concern we cleanse the skin and apply numbing cream (if needed), then inject the dermal filler. This is either done with a needle or a cannula depending on the injection site.
  • HOW LONG DO DERMAL FILLERS REALLY LAST?
This depends on the type of filler used, the area injected and the individual - everyone metabolises fillers and slightly different rates. They typically last between 9 and 24 months, dependant on all of these factors. However patients can have treatments when necessary after further consultations to keep these topped up.
  • HOW MUCH FILLER DO I NEED?
You may hear people saying that they have had 1ml or a syringe full and so this is what you want. However, you should not base what any individual needs from the amount used on another person i.e. every face is individual and should be treated that way.
  • WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?
Unlike anti-wrinkle injections, you see the effects from dermal fillers immediately. You may also see some redness, swelling and bruising in the first few days but this should all subside soon enough. At Dr Naz - Aesthetics Clinic we bring you back for a follow-up after two weeks to ensure you are happy with the end product.
  • WHERE CAN DERMAL FILLERS BE USED?
Commonly, we talk about dermal fillers smoothing out our lines and wrinkles but they can do much more than this! Below are the areas that dermal fillers can help with: Sunken cheeks Definition of the cheek bones Jaw line definition Jowl softening Chin definition Nasolabial folds Marionette lines Smoker’s lines Lip definition and volumization Tear trough Non-surgical nose reshaping
  • WHAT ARE DERMAL FILLERS? WHAT IS IN A DERMAL FILLER?
Dermal fillers are a gel-like substance that are injected under the surface of the skin to revitalise and add volume. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is the most common type of facial filler used. It is a natural substance produced by the body and is critical in maintaining skin hydration. As we age we naturally lose facial fat, elastin, collagen and HA which results in the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Dermal fillers are a safe and simple way to not only restore volume, but to also improve the skin’s hydration and texture.

  • WHAT IS MEDICAL GRADE SKINCARE?
Medical grade skin care products contain ingredients which are clinically proven to have a positive effect on the skin. Unlike over-the-counter products, they have ingredients which can penetrate below the top layers of the skin and change the cellular function.
  • DO I NEED A PRESCRIPTION?
Not necessarily however, you will need one for certain products such as tretinoin. Dr Naz is a GMC registered medical doctor and can prescribe all Obagi products.
  • HOW DO I KNOW WHAT WILL WORK FOR MY SKIN?
Firstly, it is important to note that Obagi is dermatologist approved and can accommodate the entire Fitzpatrick skin spectrum. It has also been tested for dry, oily and sensitive skin types. While there are key essential skincare habits that we should all be doing, such as using SPF, it is important to understand that no single routine caters for everyone. • I HAVE HAD BOTOX AND/OR FILLERS – CAN I GET PRP?
Yes, you can. In fact, adding PRP to your treatments will enhance the results of your other injectable treatments.
  • PRP INJECTIONS/VAMPIRE FACIAL – IS IT PAINFUL?
The treatment involves either microneedling, injections or a combination of both, and therefore can be mildly uncomfortable. However, strong topical anaesthetics are used to reduce discomfort. The treatment should not be painful.
  • AM I SUITABLE FOR PRP TREATMENT/VAMPIRE FACIAL?
At our clinic, a full and thorough consultation and assessment is performed before every treatment. This is to ensure that you are suitable for the treatment. Consultations are free, so if you are not suitable, there is no loss to you.
  • WHAT HAPPENS AFTER A VAMPIRE FACIAL?
The skin is often a little tender and red. There might be small marks where injections and/or microneedling was performed. Some patients have a little swelling or small lumps. These side effects are usually mild and resolve within 24-48 hours.
  • WHAT IS THE DOWNTIME AFTER A VAMPIRE FACIAL?
The treated area may be a little red and/or tender, but this usually minimal and subsides within 24-48 hours.
  • WHAT DOES A VAMPIRE FACIAL (PRP TREATMENT) DO FOR YOUR SKIN?
PRP (platelet rich plasma) promotes healing and regeneration of the skin and boosts the production of healthy, new skin cells. It activates fibroblasts, which in turn boost production of collagen, a protein that works as the scaffolding of the skin and provides smoothness, elasticity and firmness in the skin. It also boosts your skin’s production of hyaluronic acid. This acid increases skin’s moisture levels, helping to plump and smooth the skin. It also has antioxidant properties which help to prevent skin aging. It also helps improve blood supply to the skin, which helps the skin receive the nutrients it needs and also helps to provide a fresh and dewy glow to the skin.
  • WHAT DOES PRP TREATMENT DO FOR YOUR HAIR?
PRP can help prevent or slow hair loss and stimulate growth of hair, especially after a transplant. It does this by stimulating the cells in the hair follicle and by improving blood supply to the hair follicle. It is proven to increase hair count, thicken hair and elongate the growth phase of the growth cycle for hair.
  • HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE BEFORE I SEE RESULTS?
For skin treatments, patients often start to see results approximately a week after treatment. Peak improvement is usually seen between 1-3 months after treatment, as this as given time for new collagen to form. For hair treatments, you may notice a difference by 2 weeks, however the most noticeable results are seen between 3 and 6 months after treatment.
  • HOW LONG DOES PRP LAST?
For your first ever PRP treatment, regardless of whether it is for your skin or hair, we always recommend getting 3 treatments, each spaces approximately 4-6 weeks apart. This helps to kick start the rejuvenation process and provide longer lasting results. After three treatments, results usually last between 12 and 24 months. To maintain effects, patients often return for treatment top-ups every 6-12 months – these top ups typically consist of only one treatment and not a course of 3. It is possible to have just 1 or 2 treatments in the beginning, however results will not be as dramatic or long lasting.
  • HOW LONG DOES A VAMPIRE FACIAL/PRP TREATMENT TAKE?
The whole process takes approximately an hour, however this will vary depending on how many areas you treat.
  • IS MICRONEEDLING THE SAME AS A VAMPIRE FACIAL/PRP TREATMENT?
Microneedling is when tiny “microscopic” hole are made to the skin. This process stimulates your skin to heal itself, which boosts collagen. Fine lines, scars, acne scarring and uneven skin tone are all improved. PRP treatment involves using your own PRP (platelet rich plasma) which contains several components which in turn stimulate healing of the skin. The PRP can be delivered into the skin after microneedling. However, it can also be delivered using injections for deeper penetration into the skin tissues. Like microneedling alone, PRP helps fine lines, scars, acne scarring and uneven skin tone – however the results are more dramatic and longer lasting than they would be with microneedling alone. PRP also helps hair loss and thinning when used in the scalp – microneedling does not.
  • WHAT SHOULD YOU NOT DO AFTER A VAMPIRE FACIAL
For 24-48 hours after treatment: Avoid strenuous exercise Avoid makeup Avoid alcohol Avoid NSAIDs (ibuprofen, naproxen) unless prescribed by your doctor for regular use. For 3 day after treatment: Avoid excessive sun exposure Avoid use of vitamin A derivatives (retinol, retinoic acid etc.) Avoid harsh scrubs or chemical exfoliants
  • WHAT SHOULD YOU NOT DO BEFORE A VAMPIRE FACIAL/PRP TREATMENT?
48 hours before treatment: Avoid waxing Avoid laser Avoid use of vitamin A derivatives (retinol, retinoic acid etc.) Avoid alcohol Avoid NSAIDs (ibuprofen, naproxen) unless prescribed by your doctor for regular use.
